Femme Fatale

Thing is, I was born in the wrong decade. I'm fascinated by the evolution of folk/blues/rocknroll/modern art in the late 60's and early 70's. I would have loved to witness this movement and these women were right in the thick of it. Pattie Boyd (pictured first) was married to both George Harrison and Eric Clapton. She inspired Eric's "Wonderful Tonight", "Layla", "Bell Bottom Blues" and George's "Something", "I Need You", "For You Blue" and "Isn't It a Pity". I mean - come ON. Eric wrote Wonderful Tonight while she was taking forever to get ready for an event. MELT. Next - Edie Sedgewick, who was the muse of Andy Warhol. He described her as hypnotising. When she spent her entire inheritance in 6 months and fell into a heroin addiction - he banished her from The Factory. When she died of a drug overdose in an institution, Warhol denied ever knowing her. How tragic. And then there's Pamala Des Barres aka Miss P. She is said to have inspired Kate Hudson's character in Almost Famous. She lived in Laurel Canyon where every RockGod that ever mattered lived and reigned. In her book 'Im With The Band' she goes into extensive detail about her romps with Jimmy Paige, Chris Hillman, Mick Jagger, Jim Morrison, Keith Moon and many many more.

Get all the steamy details in these great books: Pattie Boyd - Wonderful Tonight: George, Eric and Me; Pamala Des Barres - Im With The Band; and Micheal Walker's - Laurel Canyon: The Inside Story of Rock and Roll's Most Famous Neighbourhood. Juicy Juicy Stuff.
